Factory Orders

Fast Markets

A financial market that combines high volatility and heavy trading, often a consequence of severe imbalance of trades. Fast markets have more sells than buys.

Fed Fund Rate

Interest rate charged by a Federal Reserve District bank for other banks that require overnight loans, and is reckoned to be an indicator of the overall direction of US Interest rates. Related Term: Ben Bernanke

Fed Funds

Non-interest bearing deposits held in Reserve by the district Federal Reserve Bank on behalf of depository institutions.

Fed Meetings

Both scheduled and special meetings of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) with regard to US monetary policy.

Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation

A US Government financial institution which insures bank deposits.

Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC)

Federal Reserve

Comprising a 12 member bank which constitutes the Federal Reserve System in the US responsible for ensuring that other banks in its designated region comply with commercial and savings bank regulations.

Fiat Currency

Money that is not linked to physical reserves much as gold, and whose value rises and falls in the market depending on demand and supply parameters.
