In addition to donating money. I am also going to donate my time to help also. I think time is just as valuable as money if not more.

Smile Excellent Idea

Hi there

I am knew to these forums so please forgive me if I am posting to the wrong forum.

I stumbled upon this website by accident but to be honest with you it is exactly what I was looking for over the past few weeks.

Basically I am a newbie forex trader trying to learn as much as possible. I was chatting with a "professional" trader a few days back as I wanted his advice about starting a forex fund which was designed to donate and raise money for charities. So you can see why I said this site was exactly what I was looking for.

I am interested in helping out in order to make this system a success. There are a few charities in particular which I am keen to help: NSPCC (National Society for the Protection of Cruelty against Children) and also World Vision (sponsor children around the world). I think all charities are good and any work which can help them is good.

Anyway I hope I have not bored you with that. Please let me know how I can help.

Thanks

Default We were going to be in Thailand when the Tsunami hit

Trish and I were going to be in Thailand and likely on Phi Phi at the time the Tsunami hit. Fortunately/unfortunately Trish's daughter had a string of financial hardships that ate our travel fund.

Had this "BAD" stuff not happened we would have likely been killed. We would have been on the beach.

We went the year before and the people are so nice.
We donated some money and it was matched at Trish's work.

But our long term plan is to go back to Thailand and Phi Phi and be tournists again. We hope that the people we met on Phi Phi are okay. We were invited to a school program and the children sang and danced...really quite a treat.

I would ask that people return to the area. The probability of another happening is low and while there are so many dead there is also the living and I see the business as part of the human environment. If a little shop keeper has no business it affects the family and so on.

So, give what you can now but also if it is possible make a trip to one of the affected countries. I think you will be filled with good emotions. These were some of the nicest people I have ever met. Another thing was that Phi Phi had a high Islamic population. I had some fears. Now I am ashamed for believeing the fear propaganda. Sure, some areas are less safe that are Islamic...and in many ways we are responsible for the issues we are now facing.....well that is a political message.....end

Bottom line the people of Thailand and other countries rely on outsiders to make the economy work. It is a win win.

Lucky you Forex5x. If you were there on Phi Phi then you would have swept away.

Generally speaking, if you don't hurt other, they won't hurt you. Actually no place is safe even Pentagon.

As money manager I made a collaboration with the owner of some sites regarding investments that is the owner of a charity association helping children. I devolve 3% of the monthly net profits of my fee to this association.
I usually made donation time to time, for example for the tsunami distaster and other in the past, but the idea to devolve constantly each month a quota of the fee I apply to my customers was born with this site and your discussions about charity. So we can say that all my customers make a little donation and I think I'll try to share the meaning of the charity message through my site too.

So Scorpion, I think that you made a good work in advance to the finish of your software!

Good work,
Alex

Guys,

Apologies to only getting to look through this section of the FXFisherman until now. What a breath of fresh air it was to read your views and how this aligns with my own.

I don't unfortunately have that much money at the moment and am battling to start my first Forex account but I've almost got there so at least that's a first stake in the ground.

My only recent donation was to the Tsunami relief through Care Australia. In my own small way, I gave as much as I could and, in fact, my 7 year old son was so moved by the event he also dug deep. I was physically moved by his givingness and cheered to think our parenting skills were paving the way to foster the growth of an honest, caring little boy.

I'm in a Catch-22 financial situation at the moment but my goal is much the same as most others active on this forum. Look for the best way to help those less fortunate than ourselves. Currently, I can only help others mainly through effort rather than money but I fully intend for that to change and I hope FXFisherman is a part of that process.

Sorry for the rant but thought I'd at least give my story so you know what I'm about.

Cheers
Martin
