Default My hard disk is dying

Man this thing is dying. It's making sound like tuk tuk tuk troott.... and it's making my laptop runs as slow as a turtle now. A few hours ago, i turned this Toshiba M2 laptop on and "Hard disk failed" banged on the screen! it shocked me like hell. I restarted and backed up critical files including fxfisherman project files. All done, but man this toshiba thing is dying in 2 years! On the back a label says "Made in the Philippine", but I ordered this one from Singapore, oh well. Next time, i'll be looking for "Made in Japan" or "Made in USA".

I can't believe it's dying just 1 day after the warranty date expired! The timing is so damn accurate. Whoope laptop freezing...

Made In USA is EXTREMELY rare to see

Just one day past the expiration, talk about corporate conspiracy theory =)

Most of the tech is Made in Asia, couse the work power is cheap there. Worker in the US needs a sallary of about 20 000 $ a year, needs all kinds of insurance and stuff, workers in Asia earn 100$ and work for this money. It is like that in Uzbekistan , I am not quite sure about Singapour and Malasia, but I think It is proraby close, maybe instead of 100$ it is 200 , but still.

Gaz, here I see lots of "Made in USA" stuffs especially on Sony laptops, Chigago grapes, and Hammer V cars.

Computer parts like chips, CPU, RAM and Mainboards are "Made in Taiwan" first hand, then here comes the packarding part in developed countries like USA and Japan which then "Made in USA/Japan" is labelled on the outer side of completed products. It's said Taiwan produces 90% of computer parts supplied to the rest of the world!

This, I know something... my hard disk chips must have been made in China or Vietnam and then got covered up with "Made in the Philippines" label. I've not trash it yet. I'm writing this post on the hard disk. I'll be doing a Bad Sectors Scan with Norton Disk Doctor first. Maybe i still have some luck... if not it's $160 job to buy a brand new 100GB of "Made in Japan"

Quality control in this country sucks... "Made in Japan" = "Made in China"

Bad for me that most online shops in US don't ship computer parts outside USA. I would order directly from them and pay custom if they did. I can order only books and dvds from amazon, but they must be couriered by FedEx or DHL to reach me, coz postal service in this country sucks too. Postmen steal packages and money in letters... very naughty since they're poor.

Thanks for the link gaz, but they don't ship internationally.

I check out help section at http://www.newegg.com/CustomerServic...l.asp?Module=4
Quote:
Newegg.com does not currently ship internationally; we only deliver to locations within the United States and to Puerto Rico.
