Thumbs up Save the Lebanese Civilians Petition

First of all I want to say that I know this is a sensitive issue and there are probably both Isreali and Lebanese people on this forum. The intent of my post isn't to take sides, but to divert attention to the suffering of civilians on both sides.

I don't want to hear stuff like " we are right and they are wrong" or " they've started first". I don't want to hear the history, or how much you hate each other. Any attempts to divert the topic of this thread from the suffering of civilians and ending the war will result with a closing of this thread.

Hundreds of Lebanese civilians have fled South Lebanon and went into the north or into Syria. Residents of South Beirut have fled their homes and are now staying in Beirut's parks and streets cause of the constant bombardment of that area by Isreal.

On the other side, thousands of Israeli civilians are forced to live in shelters cause of the constant bombardment by Hezbollah rockets. This war seems to be fought against the civilians, not against the armies.

How can you help?

Go to http://julywar.epetition.net and sign the Save the Lebanese Civilians Petition and forward this invitation to your friends.

Lebanese civilians have been under the constant attack by Israel for several days. Innocent civilians are being collectively punished. Isreal bombs bridges, roads, ambulance, civilian buildings. Hezbollah bombs Isreali civilians with rockets. Stop the madness now!

I hope i can help Lebanese people. But could signing any petition help? These governments never listen to people nowadays. I've been seeing large-scale protests everywhere against war in Iraq; nonetheless, the war is still there.

To stop the crisis, both parties have to forgive and forget, but that's like telling them to have brain-washed. It's impossible, i hate to say that. It's not really the governors who initiated all these things, but the people. If they don't forget the pain first, we can't help them. Like you, I want them to forget all the history. But we are not their gods; sometimes we look stupid pretending to be gods.

At the end of the day, life goes on...

Petition isn't the only way to help. I think the UN and " Red Cross and Red Crescent" both have missions to help the refugies and civilians in Lebanon. You can contact them on the web, or talk with their local representatives in your area.
