SSI Still Pointing To EURUSD Upside Despite Volatility

The extreme in speculative retail positioning seen last week was quickly dampened by fleeting liquidity and a steadfast range. Looking back to last Thursday, the EURUSD Speculative Sentiment Index showed the most extreme short bias in positioning since November of 2006 as traders built up positions before a heavy mix of event risk. Not only was the perennial, top market-moving non-farm payrolls release due, but an ECB rate decision was expected to end with quarter-point hike.

I think E/U can't break out 1.6 in recent months, I prepair to short E/U again.

Will The Dollar Buckle?

Forget microeconomics. The currency market these days is trading almost exclusively on two macro themes. One - are Fannie and Freddie about to cause a systemic collapse of the US financial system? Two – is Iran really trying to provoke a military response from Israel? If the answer to either one of those questions is yes, the dollar may buckle under pressure.
