Free Hercules Breakout EA

Hi Everybody,

I have an EA that I am willing to offer for free on this forum. I will likely be back to offer a much more sophisticated EA for sell in the coming days so I figure that it can't hurt to build some good will here first. I have another decent breakout EA based on Fractals that I might also post for free here in the coming weeks.


This is a very simple breakout MA based on rapid price deviations from a significant moving average. It is designed to work on the H1 time frame. There are seversal versions of the EA each designed to trade a specific currency cross (or crosses) The Hercules_v3_Majors EA is ready to trade EUR/USD and USD/CHF. I have also attached the GBP/JPY version thad is set to trade GBP/JPY. If anyone is interested in receiving the other versions you can just drop me a line by PM and I'll be happy to send them. The lot size and MM is also easily adjusted in each EA. This EA participated in the 2006 A.T.C. where it was able to hold the top spot for most of the competition before suffering from a string of losses that eventually knocked it out of contention. Modifications have recently been made to reduce the drawdowns suffered by Hercules in oscillating market environments but it is still recommendable to pair this EA with a range trading strategy in order to achieve a more consistent equity curve. The risk:reward ratio however is EXTREMELY favorable and winning trades tend to be quite a bit larger than the losing ones.

This is the very first EA that I ever designed (what now seems like over a million years ago), it was coded by David Lin with modifications later done by Ahmed.

I have attached the backtest reports for EUR/USD and GBP/JPY. As can be seen Hercules does not trade very often instead waiting for high-probability opportunities to enter the market. Hercules also comes equipped with a FANTASTIC risk:reward ratio.

Strategy looks fairly good on backtests ,it would be nice to see forward tests preferably on a real accoiunt

No problem OilFXPro. Hopefully you are able to make some money with it. It is a solid strategy. I used the EAs a while back in my live accounts... they were profitable but streakish. I recently had the filters added to improve the consistency of the overall performance. Since the addition of the filters they have entered 3 trades... a nice win in GBP/JPY, a small win in EUR/USD, and a small loss in USD/CHF for some modest overall profits.. The risk:reward ratio is fabulous so they world be hard pressed not to win in the long run.
