Good idea ravique, I can't really think of much other ads.. We have to make sure theres none of those russian posts about the .exp to .mql conversion etc.

Is there a possibility to put a minimum post limit? so that no one comes by and just posts ads with different usernames...

Just a suggestion that someone has to have at least 10 posts or something in order to promote something

Well you know it deppends on the objectives of this section. I think that this 10 posts thing it too much , this is why :

Let`s say we have a Person X who wants to put and advertisment thread in our Ads branch , so he has to have 10 posts at his count, he willl go on posting them, but they will all be useful. They will all be like :

That is a good idea.
I like it
Can`t wait to do this.
Have a good luck on this one.
And so on ...

There is no scence in posts they will be posting to put out their advertisment thread. But we have to make sure that no service will be advertised twice, no website will be advertised twice and so on, this is a thing we have to make sure, to avoid the spam.

You're right, I guess once someone posts we just check the kind of posts the person does. I mean everyone shouldn't be able to use the server without giving anything back. So I think we should just manually check them I guess, when the forum is slow i would gladly check people's background with their posts etc.

So who is exactly are the moderators of that part of the forum? I see no names after it

Guz, I have a surprise for you, but you are the moderator of the Advertisment Section. So as me. So as all of the others Super Moderators ( which we are since recent time ) , because as a Super Moderator you can moderate all the threads and posts in the forum.

I think enforcing minimum posts count isn't bad but isn't good either. Like Rav suggested, those guys will just post junk messages to raise up the counter. Anyway, here's another problem. Should we allow members to put referral links in their signature or not? To many people, it's a motive to post as I've noticed at many other forums.

If this site generates splitable profit from Adsense and other advertisements, I'll share it with all of us (admins, mods and charities only sorry). But currently the profit is just to sustain the server rent. However the profit is not bad, aprox. $6.15 for 1,000 page hits, based on two months records. Look at those big sites with 1 to 10 millions page hits a day. That would be $6,000 to $60,000 a day! Not to mention alternative ads revenue. Am I talking too far?

You know in russian people have a saying : Let`s not be splitting the skin of an unkilled bear. So let`s not be splitting something we don`t have (YET) , until we have it. Even then, I think we will think of better ways of invest this money then just putting it in our pockets.
I think the problem with refferal links could be solved this way :

If a person wants to post a refferral link in his signature, I think he just could do it, but only on one condition, he has to note that this is a refferal link. We should think of some mark for it , somethink like (ref) , and explain it in the rules .

I remembered Google enforced this rule in Adwords. Advertisers had to put either "affiliate" or "aff" in the ad description. But now it's abolished, since it looks somewhat messy, as all advertisers put "aff" all over the places.

Well, I think we could try it, if it looks messy, we`ll change it. It i unless we have some other options besides not marking them at all.

and would it be possible to get a Auto Hide out?
Meaning a place were people can post just EA's and nothing eles, then have another one for decussion on those EA's i have a few and i didnt know were to put them i think they could help people!!

I dont understand what you mean by autohide but I can create a post if you wish, stickied, locked with all the EA's of i can find (as attachments)..

Hmm thanks for the idea, I'll work on spidering the forum for this. I'll also post who submitted it, I'll try to make it in alphabetical order (by name of system). Make a thread for each EA though, try not to make too many though, take the ones with most potential.. however they'll be found under your name in the sticky
