Hi
here is the experience of another customer I had bad experience with senior coder here. Never award his words and keep asking for more fees. So dont pay fees in advance just to protect yourself. In my case i pay full fees in advance. The coder started asking more money half way through the job oilfxpro |

Thats why I give project to someone that have experience but dont have websites to promote them.so they not think they are MASTER and I got one golden coder(all EA and indicator satisfied). But if someone wants me to introduce to him..PM me because he doesnt have website(yet???).
but choose yourself,lol |

some good guidelines for prospective purchasers of programmers for coding mechanical trading systems.
First, don't buy coding services from someone who didn't trade. 1. '"THIS IS THE FIRST OF MY TRADING COMMANDMENTS: THOU SHALT NOT BUY CODING /PROGRAMMING SERVICES FROM NON-TRADERS. PERIOD. ETCHED IN STONE." Non-traders aren't aware of all the little nuances of trading the gotchas that will getcha when you are actually slugging it out in the markets. several other questions to pose when evaluating the programmers that get by the first commandment: DOES THE PROGRAMMER BEHAVE IN ACCORD WITH A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE? Does he answer his emails promptly? Does he ask for all the information of the trading system before quoting a price? What are his refund conditions?Does he offer a refund for crappy coded work?I bet most do not and they will stop replying to emails. Have you seen any of his coded work?If he can only show you indicators he coded, he may not be capable of producing a good E A.These simple indicators can be coded by the basic programmers. Have you seen any reccomendations on the forums by independent posters?Admin will often reccomend their own friends , always visit forums and look for reviews of non admin related programmers. Are any of his own coded strategies profitable?Test out the E A the coder produced for consistency in back testing and forward testing. Some Eas are coded to show different results for backtesting and different results for forward testing. There was an example where the E A looked for daily close , before it run the lower time frame testing. This is very unprofessional. Look at the blacklist of programmers on this and many other forums. http://www.fxfisherman.com/forums/fo...ogrammers.html "You must know yourself and your trading requirements before you approach any programmer," . You need to know how much it will cost, how many rules and lines of code u want to have coded ie your entry rules and exit rules. The system should be tailored to fit your style. 2. WILL THE PROGRAMER PROVIDE EVIDENCE THAT THE CODING PERFORMS IN REAL-tIME TRADING AS WELL AS IT DOES IN PAPER-TRADING SIMULATIONS ON HISTORICAL DATA? Ask for at least several pieces of coding work . "Sounds tough? Well, so is losing your money trading a crappy coded system," . If you want expert advisors coded ,ask to see several EX4 expert advisors and one mql file. 3. WILL THE PROGRAMMER PROVIDE THE EX4 TO YOU ON A TRIAL BASIS FOR REAL-TIME EVALUATION? many programmers will let you trade EX4 for 30 days for around $100 and will credit the amount to the purchase price if you buy the MQL 4 files. 4. ARE THE RULES OF THE SYSTEM CODED AS PER REQUIREMENTS TO THE PURCHASER? Some coders run their own templates and only supply standard take profit ,trailing stop and other conditions . How much extra does it cost to have your own unique stop loss method ,trailing stop and other standard deviations from the template? 5.DOES THE PROGRAMMER REFUSE YOUR WORK OR DOES HE BEND OVER BEGGING FOR WORK WITHOUT ASKING QUESTIONS? The Excel file which you sent me with trading rules is very hard to read and follow. I would prefer a plain document, with all requirements listed and numbered. This will certainly speed up the quotation process. Right now, requirements are scattered over the whole document, they repeat themselves making it very difficult for proper time estimation. When the document is ready we will need to review it and make sure that all requirements are understood correctly. Right now, I am afraid that I would refuse the project based on the current documentation. Another great resource for finding out about programmers, are other traders in the online forums who may have purchased these programming services. If you Find a programmer that meets all the requirements listed here, you can go onto one of these forums and ask if anyone has experience with the programmer Although this technology makes "sharing" a programmers work easy, it would be wrong to ask another trader to provide you with a programmers's work, as it would be to accept such an offer. If your own system is any good, your profitable trading will more than repay you for the money paid to the programmer. If the programmer did a great job, the the programmer certainly deserves to be compensated for creating it. It also is good to remember that there is nothing new under the sun. Many of the programable systems are readily available for sale on the market today ,or are freely available , on Web pages. Like the online communities, sometimes you have to sort through a lot of useless information, but the effort, , can be rewarding. OILFXPRO Last edited by oilfxpro : 07-20-2008 at 09:52 AM. |

part II
some good guidelines for prospective purchasers of programmers for coding mechanical trading systems. Most programmers will not give a telephone number.Enquire to see if they provide a contact number Some programmers will become available on skype or reply to emails only to collect the money.Check them out thoroughly before sending any money. They will only reply to new enquiries to collect the money,in which case avoid these guys as they are unlikely to give any after sales service Most programmers only work part time .They take time off from servicing clients on a regular basis, and take on other contract work ,in which case you will not get the service you require. If you have a very large project ie 10 expert advisors+ 10 indicators, the programmers will regularly dissapear during the development period, you will get regular service disruptions OILFXPRO |
