EA when power goes down

Hi,
I downloaded this Bogie-NN-V88 EA and configured to default settings mentioned in document. It opened a trade few hours after starting this EA, it bought USDEUR 2.5 Mini lot (250$ worth of investment), it was progressing with good profit showing 20 $, then power got shut down, I restarted MT once power was back, I left the MT as it is and went for sleep, next day morning I’m seeing 250$ in profit, but still the trade is not closed (surprised to see the profit is more than the trade capital invested but still it is not closed) and another additional surprise is it has opened another trade in the same night which is running with 150$ profit, both the trades not yet closed. Please suggest me is there anything need to be done whether power shut down ?. Still EA will have control once we restart MT after power is on ?. How to know whether the open trades are still under control of EA ?. Powershut down handling is EA specific or general thumb rule ? I’m running on Demo account only. |

![]() But reading your post I can say that there's no ability to manage already opened positions. Close the manually. It's just a lucky turn that price went up. Imagine what it could be in opposite case. ![]() P.S. Does EA put TP/SL in orders? |

Thanks a lot Dael for your kind reply,
I assume, EA doesnt handle after un scheduled power stop, So once power is back I will close the Open trade manually. But my doubt is if Internet is down and back after some time, I will not be physically able to note whether internet connection went down or not. (I'm in India, powercut & internet down I can expect frequently, Once I do well with my demo and live for some time I might think of VPS solution) So my question is, is there any visual clue in MT to identify whether the open positions are still are under control of EA ?. For your question on SL/TP, this EA doesnt set anything on them. I'm newbie for EA, I highly appreciate if anybody could clear my doubt on this. |

The problem isn't when the platform restart. If the EA is well coded it will take care for sure all opened trades.
Your first problem is if the power is out for long time. The unique solution especially if you run it on Live is to use a virtual server. It will cost small money and you will let the EA run without stress. FerruFx

Living in a country that suffers from frequent power outages myself or 'brown outs' as they call it over here you should invest $20 per month in a decent(ish) VPS and host your EA's there. That's what I do.
