Dear members

I was recently informed that we have some live trades that are closing immediately when MetaTrader 4 platform is closed down or a power shortage occurred. After several hours on the phone with Robert my programmer we discovered that there's one function that is causing an issue when exposed to shutting down MetaTrader 4 platform prematurely while there are trades that are open. This should never be done anyway as I have explained earlier that
this causes test labels to disappear.

We are currently working on version 2.6 that is addressing some minor issues dealing with Metatrader 4 platform being shut down prematurely or power shortages. Along with version 2.6 we are working on the advanced feature to have the program switchover to a whole new set of functionality when market conditions change from a trending market to a ranging market.

So in summary please make the following changes immediately as a quick fix that will solve this problem which will prevent any open trades from closing if you shut down the MetaTrader 4 platform or encounter a power disconnect. Please look at my attached help images to further guide you to the function I want you to change.

1. Loss timeframe exit
1a. Please set "exit on alerted loss"= 0

This will take care of the above issue. For your convenience I have attached the modified 1.set file that has this change Incorporated. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. May I suggest that if you are seriously considering trading for a living on a live account that you invest in a battery backup for your computer. Regardless of how well we design the program to deal with these matters I believe it's always best to protect your investment.

Just want to drop in to let you know that my Robot is currently #45 out of 603 entrants. I don't expect to win because there are other Robots that are virtually gambling by risking a large % if not all there account margin to take a shot at starting out lucky and getting way ahead.

I just set mine up to risk only 10% total. Here is the link if you want to follow it's progress:

Thats well done, very forward and open of you to enter such a contest, I hope that you get just recognition for your efforts.

Some questions..
1) in forward tests have you ever had a loosing month
2) how long have forward test being running
3) Jun / Jul this year was a poor daily ATR months, how did it go then ?
4) Have you near reached the final developmemt stages of the development ?
5) Drawdowns, how bad can it go ?

I should have just asked for when does this EA struggle, and when does it shine?

Presently I am #33 out of 603 entries in the "Automated Trading Championship 2007". To me that is like making it to the final 3 tables in the World Series of Poker.

1. Yes. In July when all markets were correcting.

2. We have been forward testing this EA since March 2007.

3. We had no problem in June and was a profitable month.

4. Yes. However we are going to be on releasing version 2.6 which may be called version 3.0 because of the major enhancement to switch to a completely new set of functionalities when the robot detects a shift in market conditions from trending to ranging.

It is my vision to produce a near-perfect blackbox.

5. The only test we had in July was using 20% total risk (which we know now is too high) with approximate 65% drawdown. We now only trade 10% total risk. We did not expect to see every currency in drawdown which in conversation with other traders is rare.

Actually I haven't decided if I will call the new version 2.6 or 3.0. It will be a major unleashing that well certainly bring attention to what can be accomplished with a little bit of vision and an excellent programmer.

We're going to have the robot change gears completely based on a certain set of conditions based on what the robot sees in the market and will use a second set of functions to handle the new current market condition.

There's no reason to hold off buying the robot just because a new version comes out. All members get all versions with no time limit for free of course.
