the system works but u will miss some manual trades , and u`ll gain some trades while looking for signals which happen in consolidation phases .

moving averages are lagging systems , which means it`ll make a signal when the move already occurred , if ur lucky and it`s long move then u`ll catch phew pips at the end.This is often not true of the 5WMAS because the 3 wmas uses a fast volatility breakout indicator.The volatility breakout indicator is non lagging.The 3 wmas uses chart patterns /candlestics and set ups in addition to the 3 wmas

If u use 5 lagging moving averages ,you get into a trade 5 periods later
If u use 3 lagging moving averages and a non lagging indicator ,u get into a trend by filtering out the ranging market trades.

It is difficult to catch entire moves on any system, simply because the market can range up 30 pips and dow 50 pips .

Here are some reliable tests from a 3 wmas system
It uses 5/20 and 100 wmas on 5 m charts

I have not given up on this system because I keep improving regularly

When the volatility breakout indicator shows a high reading of above 80 ,and lwma 5 > lwma 20 and lwma 5&20 > lwma 100 enter long at price plus 20 pips filter.Entry price is signal price + 20 pips

The system was backtesd on USD/YEN and other pairs.There were encoraging results.

To be frank I do not have the time backtest the other pairs.

The 5/20/100 cross on 5 minutes ,traded between 8 am and 18.00 hours and using 25 pips to entry filter does give an edge.

Herebelow are results presented showing a profit 0f 2627 pips over 4 years.If this backtesting is correct ,one can improve the profits to 3989 by managing quick exits.The results are also presented

By using one's trading skills ,one can improve the figure to achieve a drawdown of 1/3 of three years earnings.This is done solely with a mechanical system or expert advisor as shown by the test report of 2565 profit , over 4 years and a drawdown of 685 pips, profit factor 1.43

These figures can be improved further

The orignal expert advisor is faulty and was coded by a scammer
